Rappelling and Ascending Workshops

Rappelling is the controlled descent down a rope; we use this technique when a cliff or slope is too steep and/or dangerous to descend without protection. Ascending is going up the rope. Yes rappelling and ascending can be great fun but it also opens up areas of investigation that could not otherwise be accessible. Recreation, industrial, and arborous techniques will be covered.

Tanning Bee

May: Tentative
Location: TBA

Like the Quilting Bees of the past we get together on regular basis (when the sun is out and the air is dry) to help each other brain tan hides. This is not a class but an informal gathering. This is not about going from start to finish on a hide over a weekend but progressing with were you are with a hide that you have not finished. It is a whole lot more fun to stretch hides together then to work alone or you may not have the tools to work on your hides. We will have fleshing beams and knifes and cables for the participants use. We set up for smoking skins but please bring punky fur if you are planning on smoking. If you are ready to brain the hide please bring some brains or 1doz eggs. If you want come and just hang out that is also cool, bring something for the pot luck and guitar, drums, etc to make this a festive event. If you can host one of these events please contact us
