Registering Early
The best help you can give us is registering early so we can better plan our homeschooling programs, after school programs, weekend overnight camps, holiday sessions, and our day and overnight summer programs. Each year we see sessions fill and some weeks kids are turned away, it would be very helpful if these students could be registered early enough so we can accommodate everyone and offer a better experience for all.
Telling Your Friends
The most important advertising to us is your good words. Share what great experience your child is having or has had with your friends. Encourage them to enroll their kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sponsor a Child to Attend One of Our Programs
You probably know of a friend of your child or a child in your neighborhood that the folks need some help sending their child to one of our programs. Please reach out to them by sponsoring a child today.
Telling the Community
If you have had a great experience with us please write us a review in places like Yelp.com, and WaccoBB.net. We would be glad to send you brochures and give them to your child's teacher, career guidance counselor, or homeschool group; or post a brochure on your community bulletin board.
Helping Buy our Van
Wilderness Skills Institute is off to an awesome start and have beautiful lands available to us throughout the bay area. Most of these lands are off the beaten path and we will want to access these lands year round in any weather conditions. How cool would it be to be able to pick up kids in central locations or right from their school and take them exploring. Or Goal is get a 15 passenger van.

Helping Buy Climbing Gear
We are also off to a great start with our climbing program. We have 5 new sets of harnesses, descenders, locking carabiners, helmets, as well as new instructor gear and new static rope. It is our goal that on the first day of the session each participant will check out their own gear. They will be responsible for that gear the entire session, this way helmets will not be shared, having to adjust and disinfect each time, harnesses not need to be readjusted it will be safer and time better spent each day. For less then $150 per child, each child could have their own gear for the week. We have set up a register at REI for the gear we need.
Helping Buy Tents
We take the students into the back country to learn wilderness skills but in the foul weather of winter it is nice to have a dry warm place to sleep and work until the weather changes. These tents are equipped with wood stoves and are made to hold up to some very stiff winds.
Thank you Anna Murach from the bottom of our hearts for donating the first bunk tent. This tent will hold memories for the kids for many years to come.
We would like to promote what we are doing at various period events and take students to these events which require traditional tents from the early 1800's:
 
These wall tents and tipis are made by the fine people at Tentsmiths. These are well made and will serve the participants for may years to come. Please contact us to make a donation for one or more of these tents.
Donate a Kiln, Kick Wheels, etc
Pottery has been and should be a major craft for the kids. We are hand building and using low fire raku techniques in the camp fire. A kiln, kick wheels, and associated pottery tools would greatly add to our program. If you have these things gathering dust we would love to put them to good use.

Helping Buy Trail Cameras
 
We had been putting out Trail Cameras when we were tracking with the Native Eyes classes that I was in. It makes it very real for the students to see a photo of what is making the tracks that we are following.
I would like to do the same with our participants, track animals, find locations that we believe the animals will be back at night, have the kids set the cameras, and have them check the cameras the next day for animals caught doing what they do.
As soon as we find a vender that will give us a good deal on the cameras I will post it here.
